Development

Development... to unlock the full potential of our people.

We provide the opportunity to all our people for personal development. Across the organisation, we offer both external and internal development programmes; skills enhancement and work opportunity training for the local community. Our aim is to deliver the benefits of action learning - where practical and relevant knowledge can be gained and implemented successfully into the business. The more relevant the learning, the more engaged become the participants and most importantly the deeper the knowledge and skills become embedded within the business. We therefore develop and tailor our training programmes to meet the specific needs of our individual business units.

Here is a cross section of our recent development & training programmes...

  • Leadership - MSc Corporate Leadership & Emerging Executive Programme developed with Scottish Enterprise Next Generation Leadership Programme.
  • Management - SVQ in management (Level 4) developed with the Scottish Qualification Authority. Lean Management Programme developed with Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service.
  • Operational - SVQ & NVQ (Level 2 & 3) in operator training for glass processing developed with the Scottish Qualification Authority, the Vocational College and the Glass Qualification Authority.
  • Skills - Skill development for Health & Safety; Risk assessment; Human Resources; Marketing; Computer Aided Design; Plant & Machinery.
  • Apprenticeships - Modern apprenticeships in flooring, glazing & glass processing.
  • Training School - Working in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council, Routes to Work and John Wheatley College, we developed a training school programme offering local unemployed people the opportunity to learn new skills and on completion of the 12 week programme, an opportunity for full time employment within our organisation.
